A junior engineering position focused on supporting the automation, deployment, and operational health of software systems serving federal-sector clients. The role blends hands-on systems work with collaborative delivery, sitting at the intersection of development, infrastructure, and operations on an Agile team.
Responsibilities
- Support automation and ongoing optimization of software deployment and operational processes. - Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux-based environments used for builds and runtime. - Help develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines built on Jenkins, including builds and release workflows. - Write and maintain automation scripts in Groovy, Bash, Python, or comparable languages. - Assist in implementing configuration management using Red Hat Ansible. - Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and operations colleagues to support reliable application delivery. - Monitor system performance and help triage deployment or production issues. - Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement efforts.
Requirements
- Three or more years of experience in DevOps, systems administration, software development, or a closely related technical role. - Practical experience supporting Linux environments. - Experience with Jenkins and core CI/CD concepts. - Experience with Red Hat Ansible or other configuration management tooling. - Scripting experience in Groovy or a similar language. - Working understanding of build automation, deployment processes, and source control systems. - Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot technical issues in development or production settings. - Experience operating within Agile or Scrum teams. - Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. - U.S. residency for three of the past five years. - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, engineering, or a related discipline.
Nice to have
- Prior experience supporting federal, CMS, or healthcare-sector systems. - Hands-on CI/CD pipeline implementation experience. - Familiarity with container technologies such as Docker. - Additional scripting in Bash or Python. - Understanding of Infrastructure as Code concepts. - Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus or the ELK Stack.
