Remote job
Senior Forward Deployed Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview A senior forward deployed engineer is needed to help define what production-grade agentic web operations look like in practice, embedded directly with strategic enterprise accounts. The role sits at the intersection of product, engineering, and customer teams, turning first-of-kind deployments into reusable blueprints that inform the broader platform roadmap. It is a customer-facing, high-autonomy position suited to someone comfortable operating under ambiguity while shipping real production systems.
Responsibilities - Map business-critical marketing and web workflows with strategic enterprise customers and translate them into deployable technical designs. - Design and build agentic workflows using modern APIs, a headless CMS, component systems, and emerging AI capabilities. - Build integrations between the core platform and external systems such as ad platforms, analytics tools, CRM, DAM, and data pipelines. - Engineer human-in-the-loop safeguards, observability, rollback paths, and permission boundaries into every deployment from day one. - Document where agentic workflows break down and distinguish systemic friction from customer-specific issues. - Produce reusable architecture blueprints and reference implementations after each engagement, and partner with sales teams pre-sale to de-risk complex AI or integration concerns.
Requirements - 4–6 years of experience in solutions engineering, forward deployment, or another customer-facing technical role. - Strong working knowledge of AI, APIs, automation, data pipelines, and integration architecture patterns. - Solid front-end fundamentals including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks. - Experience designing and supporting systems that manage live web properties at scale. - Hands-on experience with workflow automation tools such as n8n or equivalents. - A track record of working through ambiguity, scoping projects, and delivering in first-of-kind contexts, plus willingness to travel to customer sites for embedded engagements.
Nice to have - Familiarity with visual development or CMS platforms similar to the one being deployed. - Genuine curiosity about agentic AI systems, LLM orchestration, and autonomous workflows. - Product intuition that helps decide when to generalize versus customize a solution, and clear communication of trade-offs including when the answer is no.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first within the United States, with a required in-person onboarding session in San Francisco, CA. - Full-time, permanent, exempt position with a company-wide bonus program tied to financial and operational goals. - Equity (RSUs) for every permanent employee. - Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans covering dependents, with most premiums paid. - 12 weeks of paid parental leave for all parents and 6+ additional weeks for birthing parents, plus support for family planning, menopause, and midlife transitions. - Flexible vacation, paid holidays, and a sabbatical program. - Mental health resources, therapy, and coaching. - 401(k) with 100% employer match up to $6,000/year in the U.S., plus retirement savings support globally. - Monthly stipends for work and wellness expenses, and an annual company-wide bonus program for full-time, permanent, non-commission employees.
