Senior Triage Automation Engineer
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Turn recurring investigation of issues across test and road-going autonomous vehicle fleets into dependable automation and reusable tools. Working between triage, engineering, safety, machine learning, and operations, you will identify where automation can help, validate its results, and measure whether it improves investigation quality and speed.
Responsibilities - Observe and document existing investigation workflows, then identify high-value opportunities for automation. - Build pipelines, triage bots, behavioural classifiers, and workflow tools. - Work with investigation engineers to turn ad hoc scripts into robust, reusable solutions. - Test automation for accuracy and reliability, including the quality of classifications and likely causes it suggests. - Document each tool’s purpose, expected outputs, operation, and limitations. - Track investigation quality and throughput, and participate in regular triage and calibration sessions.
Requirements - At least three years working with complex technical systems; robotics or autonomous vehicles are useful backgrounds. - Strong Python and SQL skills, plus Bash or other shell scripting and comfort working in remote Linux environments. - Experience building or maintaining data pipelines, notebooks, or automation triggered by cloud systems. - Ability to assess an unclear manual process, choose what is worth automating, and deliver the work end to end. - Clear communication with both technical and non-technical partners.
Nice to have
Familiarity with issue-tracking tools such as Jira and experience working across software, data, and operational workflows are useful.
