Senior Software Engineer

Role overview

Develop Java and Spark focused components for a data and identity delivery platform. The work includes building reusable systems and libraries for business-critical data products, improving performance and cost efficiency, and maintaining secure, scalable cloud services. The engineer collaborates with product and technical stakeholders and contributes to the growth of less experienced teammates.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain systems, libraries, and components, primarily using Java, Scala, and Spark. - Deliver product requested enhancements and address functional or performance issues. - Resolve code and dependency vulnerabilities, maintain compliance, and support privacy and security reviews. - Work with stakeholders through an Agile development process; review peers’ code and uphold sound engineering practices. - Mentor junior engineers through formal and day-to-day guidance.

Requirements - A college degree and at least five years of experience, or equivalent professional experience. - Experience building reusable libraries and defining their interfaces. - Strong object-oriented programming skills. - Experience developing on a major cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP. - Experience building Java or Scala components for Spark, plus pipeline or workflow orchestration. - Familiarity with Agile delivery and build or DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, Jira, and Terraform.

Nice to have - Databricks or Snowflake application development, or integration with third-party platforms. - Spring or Python experience, a relevant cloud certification, or experience with generative AI.
