Principal QA Architect

Role overview Lead a greenfield test automation initiative as a Principal QA Architect, designing a Playwright-based framework intended for organization-wide use across multiple stacks including Salesforce and web. The role blends hands-on framework design, AI-assisted authoring, and stakeholder-facing quality reporting.

Responsibilities - Own the greenfield automation framework end-to-end, from architecture and foundational technical decisions through long-term direction. - Design for scalability and stack-agnosticism across Salesforce, web, and other surfaces. - Embed AI-assisted test authoring into the framework so manual and less-technical QA staff can contribute automated tests. - Drive adoption of the framework across the wider QA organization. - Define and report on QA engineering metrics such as coverage and defect escape rate to technical and non-technical audiences.

Requirements - A software engineering background with a subsequent move into QA automation. - 7+ years of experience designing test automation frameworks. - Proven experience architecting a test automation framework from scratch using Playwright. - Hands-on experience integrating AI tooling into engineering workflows, such as test generation or code review. - Comfort designing for and testing multiple stacks, including Salesforce. - Strong spoken and written English for daily collaboration with a US-based engineering manager and multiple stakeholders. - A proactive, ownership-driven working style: flag blockers early, request what is needed, and steer architectural direction independently.

Nice to have - Hands-on experience setting up Jira X-ray, including retrofitting it onto an existing project for coverage visibility.
