Platfrom Engineer

Role overview A growing engineering organization is hiring its second platform team member to help shape the foundations that the rest of the engineering org builds on. The role starts with core cloud infrastructure and expands into developer tooling, internal applications, and AI-driven workflows across the engineering function. It is suited to someone who wants broad ownership rather than a narrowly scoped specialty.

Responsibilities - Own the CI/CD system end to end, including pipeline code, test orchestration, deploy safety, and preview environments built on Buildkite with self-hosted runners. - Operate and improve the EKS cluster and the surrounding AWS infrastructure that supports it. - Build developer-facing tooling in close partnership with internal engineers who use it daily. - Define what good observability looks like by selecting tools, shaping alerting, and routing the right data to the right people. - Maintain a strong security and compliance posture across both internal and external services. - Lead AI adoption across engineering by selecting agent workflows and tools, and by building custom solutions for stakeholders throughout the organization.

Requirements - Solid grounding in cloud infrastructure fundamentals, including AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform, plus working knowledge of cybersecurity, observability, and CI/CD patterns. - Genuine passion for platform engineering and infrastructure topics. - Empathy for other engineers and a track record of building tooling that serves their needs. - End-to-end ownership mentality, including accountability when things break. - Bias to action: ship quickly, learn quickly, and iterate. - Strong interest in adopting AI-assisted ways of working, including integrating agents and modern tooling into daily engineering practice. - Team-first mindset with a willingness to maintain and improve code regardless of who originally wrote it.

Nice to have - Experience operating a production EKS environment at meaningful scale. - Background in building internal developer platforms or paved-road tooling. - Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks relevant to SaaS products.
