About this role
Role overview An internal IT Manager opportunity within a fully distributed, remote-first organisation. The role carries significant autonomy and is hands-on, owning the full technology estate used by a global workforce — infrastructure, business systems, security tooling and day-to-day IT services. The central mission is to enable employees to do their best work while keeping systems secure, reliable and cost-effective, partnering with People, Finance, Security and department leads so that technology scales with the business.
Responsibilities - Administer and evolve the Google Workspace environment and core business systems, ensuring integrity, availability and appropriate access. - Run device procurement, lifecycle management and mobile device management, controlling hardware and leasing costs. - Implement and maintain a centralised software and licensing management solution across SaaS spend. - Own internal IT security, including SSO, MFA, IAM and access management, and lead regular access audits and risk reviews. - Build the compliance programme end-to-end across GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 and adjacent frameworks, including evidence, audit trail and remediation. - Automate onboarding, offboarding, provisioning and access workflows, and stand up an ITSM/helpdesk to triage support requests. - Track IT spend, identify cost-reduction opportunities across SaaS, cloud and hardware, and evaluate new tools pragmatically.
Requirements - 5+ years in IT management, IT operations or systems administration. - Hands-on experience with Google Workspace, MDM, SSO, IAM and access management. - Strong grounding in internal IT security and cybersecurity best practice. - Practical experience supporting or running GDPR, ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar frameworks. - Track record automating IT workflows, especially onboarding and offboarding. - Experience managing IT vendors, SaaS contracts and technology budgets, ideally in a remote-first SaaS environment. - Pragmatic, autonomous problem-solving style with strong troubleshooting and stakeholder skills.
Benefits and work setup - Fully remote position with flexible hours and a 4-hour overlap window with UK business hours. - Dedicated work laptop and accessories provided. - £2,500 personal development budget for certifications, books and training. - Annual fully paid company retreat. - Health insurance cover where public healthcare is not available, enhanced parental leave, and a workplace pension or 401k. - Recurring virtual lunches, a welcome swag pack and access to the company's learning platform for the team. - Note: visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
