Solutions Platform Engineer - DevOps

Role overview A platform engineering role focused on building and operating the technical infrastructure that powers a solutions and pre-sales organization. The position centers on owning demo environments, building self-service partner sandboxes, and automating the tooling that allows sales engineers and solution architects to spend more time with customers. It is a highly cross-functional position that also bridges field-built prototypes into production-ready systems alongside engineering and DevOps teams.

Responsibilities

- Own the full lifecycle of the demo estate, including cloud and data center instance provisioning, realistic seeded datasets, multi-product reference environments, and scheduled teardown and refresh. - Build and maintain self-service sandbox environments that allow external partners to demonstrate products independently. - Design and implement automation that cuts technical overhead for pre-sales teams and shortens time-to-demo. - Maintain a technical knowledge base that supports security questionnaires, RFP responses, and trust-center documentation. - Run inventory and pricing extractions that feed into customer consolidation assessments. - Take ownership of field-built prototypes graduating to production, including code ownership, hosting, deployment, and ongoing support. - Define technical graduation criteria that ensure each promoted solution has clear ownership, hosting, and support models. - Monitor demo environment health, provisioning performance, and capacity, proactively resolving bottlenecks.

Requirements

- Three or more years of hands-on experience in platform engineering, DevOps, or systems engineering, ideally supporting a pre-sales or solutions organization. - Practical experience administering and provisioning Atlassian Cloud and/or Data Center environments such as Jira, Confluence, and Bitbucket. - Demonstrated experience building and operating self-service sandbox or demo environments, including lifecycle management and seeded or synthetic data. - Strong skills in infrastructure automation, scripting with Python or Bash, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices. - Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, plus CI/CD pipelines. - Experience preparing existing tools or prototypes for production, including code review, hosting, deployment, and support handoff. - Strong written communication skills with the ability to author clear technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge bases for varied audiences. - Proven ability to collaborate across solutions, pre-sales, product engineering, and DevOps teams in a fast-moving environment.
