Backend Engineer - Agentic AI

Role overview Build agentic AI features and backend services for a training and communication platform used by frontline workers. You’ll own defined engineering problems, contribute to design decisions, and occasionally help with user interfaces as the product evolves.

Responsibilities - Design, build, deploy, and support MCP servers, including tools, authentication, tenant security, and operations. - Create LLM agents that use tools and functions, including coordinated multi-agent workflows. - Evaluate agent behavior and add observability for production systems. - Develop AI services in Python and integrate them with core platform services in Java. - Contribute to architecture discussions, weighing scale, reliability, maintainability, and data quality. - Break work into manageable tasks, review code, address technical debt, and collaborate with product and quality teams.

Requirements - Hands-on experience building AI applications or agentic features with LLMs; experience with frameworks such as LangChain or Google ADK is relevant. - Production experience building, operating, or integrating MCP servers, including tool design, OAuth or other authentication, multi-tenant security, and deployment. - Experience building tool-using LLM agents and multi-agent orchestration. - Ability to test and evaluate agent behavior and monitor systems in production. - Strong attention to detail and commitment to unit and functional testing. - Technical aptitude gained through relevant education, practical experience, or both.

Nice to have - React and TypeScript experience, with familiarity in JavaScript design patterns and single-page applications.
