About this role
Role overview Guide customers through complex observability challenges across Linux, cloud, and hybrid infrastructure. You’ll advise engineering leaders on monitoring architecture and instrumentation, demonstrate solutions against real workloads, and help connect customer needs with product development.
Responsibilities - Lead technical discovery with prospective customers, assessing existing metrics, logs, traces, infrastructure, and monitoring needs. - Recommend efficient, high-performance architectures and explain capabilities such as advanced security, multi-tenancy, and downsampling. - Design and run complex proofs of concept, instrumenting workloads with Linux agents or OpenTelemetry collectors. - Plan agent and collector deployments across Kubernetes, virtual machines, and bare-metal systems. - Share customer requirements and product feedback with engineering, product, and support teams; create technical materials such as dashboards, scripts, and articles.
Requirements - At least five years in pre-sales, SRE, DevOps, or systems engineering, including complex technical sales engagements. - Strong Linux troubleshooting skills, including diagnosing CPU, memory, and disk I/O issues with standard command-line tools. - Deep understanding of logs, metrics, and traces, and how observability can reduce time to resolve incidents. - Ability to investigate missing metrics, high-cardinality data, slow queries, and alerting failures. - Knowledge of Linux internals, Docker, networking fundamentals, and Bash plus Python, Go, or Ruby. - Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, ELK Stack, Splunk, or Datadog.
Nice to have - Kubernetes experience at scale, including instrumentation and deployment patterns. - Familiarity with SSO, PromQL, or infrastructure-as-code tools such as ArgoCD, Terraform, Ansible, or SaltStack. - Contributions to open-source projects.
Benefits and work setup - Remote-first work and flexible paid time off.
