Senior Software Engineer - Instrumentation

Role overview Build and improve software and instrumentation that support product test and measurement across varied customer systems, vendors, and configurations. The work spans defining reusable test strategies and delivering the drivers, libraries, and frameworks that put them into practice. You will partner with test engineers across teams to improve coverage and the quality of the overall test platform.

Responsibilities - Develop instrumentation drivers and reusable software frameworks, abstractions, and libraries for test and measurement. - Shape scalable, maintainable test approaches that can support multiple systems and configurations over time. - Work with test engineers across groups to improve strategies and identify gaps in test coverage. - Improve test software and processes for quality, performance, reliability, repeatability, security, usability, and cost. - Gather and assess customer requirements to guide product features and capabilities. - Help resolve support inquiries, feature requests, and reported issues; travel up to 10% may be required.

Requirements - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical or a related engineering discipline, or a similar technical field. - Familiarity with at least one of C/C++, Python, or LabVIEW. - Strong analytical, organizational, written, and verbal communication skills. - A reliable, accountable approach and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to have - Familiarity with Nimbus, Visual Studio, and Git. - Knowledge of test development lifecycles, measurement methods, instrumentation, and software engineering processes.
