About this role
Role overview A hybrid clinical technology and interoperability position responsible for keeping enterprise clinical applications running reliably and ensuring clinical information flows cleanly across integrated systems. The role sits at the intersection of application support, clinical workflow analysis, and healthcare data exchange, with a strong emphasis on translating between technical teams and clinical/operational stakeholders.
Responsibilities - Provide day-to-day support for enterprise clinical applications such as the EHR, population health platforms, and related clinical technology tools. - Investigate issues reported by clinicians, providers, operations, population health users, and other stakeholders, diagnosing whether root causes sit in configuration, workflow, integration behavior, data quality, or vendor functionality. - Monitor message and error queues, resolve one-off exceptions promptly, and recommend corrective actions that improve stability and operational efficiency. - Support HL7 interfaces, APIs, endpoints, HIE connectivity, and other clinical data exchange processes, including validation of message content, authentication, file formats, and expected outcomes. - Analyze data flow issues across upstream and downstream systems, covering orders, results, referrals, demographics, eligibility, and registry submissions. - Coordinate with vendors and internal technical teams to resolve connectivity, mapping, routing, authentication, and transaction failures.
Requirements - Hands-on experience supporting enterprise clinical applications and clinical integrations in a healthcare environment. - Working knowledge of HL7 interfaces, APIs, endpoints, and HIE connectivity, plus familiarity with interface engines such as Qvera or Mirth Connect concepts. - Ability to analyze clinical workflows and distinguish application configuration issues from workflow, user process, or data quality problems. - Strong communication skills for translating technical concepts to clinicians, operational leaders, vendors, and technical teams. - Experience validating interface behavior using logs, transaction details, interface specifications, and vendor documentation.
Nice to have - Prior exposure to integrations with laboratory, imaging, immunization registry, payer, and patient intake vendors. - Experience supporting application upgrades, market expansions, and workflow changes through testing and impact analysis.
