Role overview
A client-facing technical leadership role focused on designing and delivering modern data and analytics platforms for organizations that want to treat data as a strategic asset. The position owns end-to-end architecture decisions across discovery, solution design, estimation, and delivery while partnering closely with business, technical, and executive stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical architecture and solution direction for client engagements, including architecture reviews and risk management throughout delivery. - Design scalable analytics platforms combining Lakehouse, data warehouse, semantic modeling, Power BI, self-service analytics, and hybrid cloud patterns. - Run discovery sessions, architecture workshops, and design discussions that translate business requirements into practical, well-governed technical solutions. - Develop architecture recommendations, effort estimates, staffing models, and delivery plans, and present tradeoffs and recommendations to mixed audiences. - Establish engineering practices for data quality, source control, CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, cost management, and operational readiness. - Architect secure, governed data foundations that enable AI initiatives such as Copilots, natural-language interfaces, RAG solutions, and intelligent applications, evaluating emerging tools where they add measurable value.
Requirements
- Eight or more years in data architecture, data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, or a closely related discipline. - Demonstrated experience leading architecture and technical delivery on client-facing consulting engagements. - Hands-on track record designing and delivering solutions on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Services, and Databricks, including modern analytics architecture patterns. - Advanced knowledge of data modeling, dimensional modeling, semantic modeling, Power BI architecture, data integration, and Microsoft Purview capabilities. - Experience designing secure, governed data architectures and delivery approaches that include CI/CD, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and operational readiness. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with clear accountability for the technical success of engagements.
Nice to have
- Microsoft Fabric certification or equivalent demonstrated Fabric architecture experience, plus Microsoft Purview experience with cataloging, lineage, metadata, classification, and governance. - AI and agent architecture experience, including data foundations supporting Copilots, natural-language interfaces, RAG, and intelligent applications. - Experience modernizing legacy Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse Analytics environments into Fabric, Azure-native, Databricks, or hybrid architectures. - Broader familiarity with Azure infrastructure, networking, security, and private connectivity concepts. - Relevant certifications such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert, plus industry experience in Manufacturing, Financial Services, Healthcare and Life Sciences, or State, Local Government and Education.
