Role overview This Technical Customer Support role serves as a dedicated hotline for IT professionals using a data resilience and backup platform. The engineer provides one-on-one technical assistance, troubleshooting complex backup and replication issues across the core product and third-party integrations. The mission is to leave every customer with a positive resolution while feeding insights back to developers and testers.
Responsibilities - Perform troubleshooting and analysis, including detailed log file investigation for backup and replication issues. - Act as a technical focal point for fellow IT professionals navigating complex deployment scenarios. - Take ownership of customer cases from opening through resolution, troubleshooting across the core product and third-party components from Microsoft and VMware, identifying whether issues stem from defects or misconfiguration, and applying break/fix corrections. - Educate customers by explaining how processes and interactions work within the platform. - Document all customer interactions accurately and within established SLA timelines using the CRM tool.
Requirements - Fluent English and German (reading, writing, and speaking). - Advanced user or administrative-level experience with Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022, 2025, and Windows 10/11. - Practical knowledge of TCP/IP, OS and firewall configuration, and networking troubleshooting including NAT, ports, DHCP, and DNS. - Ability to quickly learn, understand, and explain technical information to customers. - Strong ownership mentality for client issues through resolution. - Excellent time management skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced support environment.
Nice to have - UNIX and/or Linux knowledge. - Experience with VMware ESX(i), Microsoft Hyper-V, Microsoft Exchange server administration, or database engines such as SQL or Oracle.
