Role overview A senior director-level position charged with executing an already-defined AI-ready data governance strategy across a multi-source enterprise data estate. The work blends deep subject-matter expertise with a builder's mindset, turning governance from a periodic exercise into a continuous, automated rhythm. The successful hire will deliver certified data products backed by live trust scores, clear ownership, and active lineage rather than static documentation.
Responsibilities - Operate a Databricks Unity Catalog and a business-facing catalog layer (such as Atlan) as the certification backbone, progressing coverage domain by domain through Bronze, Silver, and Gold pipelines - Stand up continuous, agent-driven quality scoring so trust metrics persist after sign-off and trigger automated follow-up actions - Produce executive intelligence reporting that gives leadership a current, evidence-based view of how much of the organization's data can be trusted and why - Register and govern the AI agents that consume enterprise data, while personally using agentic tools daily to move faster - Align distributed data and business owners across Sales, Marketing, Finance, and HR on a common set of governance standards - Shape approach to ambiguous, high-visibility initiatives and influence organizational direction through the standards authored
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in business, data science, information systems, a quantitative discipline, or equivalent practical experience - 7+ years in enterprise data governance, data management, or go-to-market data operations - Track record running a data and AI governance program end to end: setting standards, securing distributed owner adoption, and holding the outcome - Hands-on working knowledge of Databricks Unity Catalog and a business-facing catalog such as Atlan, including certifying metrics from source through to consumption - Daily practitioner experience with AI coding or agent tools (for example Claude or comparable assistants) used as a core working instrument - Ability to set guardrails and guide how others use agentic tooling across the team
Nice to have - Experience designing federated governance models that balance central standards with distributed ownership - Comfort operating in environments where AI tooling and roadmaps shift frequently and plans must adapt - Background aligning stakeholders across multiple business domains on shared data definitions
