Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead the engineering team building a compliance platform for government vendors, agencies, and State, Local, and Education organizations. This early-stage product role combines people leadership and technical judgment: you’ll turn evolving customer needs into a delivery plan, establish team practices, and guide multi-quarter work as the product and team grow.
Responsibilities - Coach, develop, and hire engineers, strengthening team composition, delivery, and engineering culture. - Lead roadmap execution across compliance workflows, framework-specific capabilities, and customer integrations. - Work with Product and Design to shape priorities and turn ambiguous partner needs into focused engineering plans. - Manage scope, sequencing, and cross-functional dependencies in a 0-to-1 environment. - Establish operating rhythms, standards, and engineering practices that can scale with the product.
Requirements - At least three years in a full-time engineering management role, with experience leading engineers at different levels. - Strong technical foundation, ideally including experience as a senior engineer and the ability to discuss architecture and system tradeoffs. - Experience in an early-stage product environment where requirements change and prioritization requires judgment. - Track record of hiring, onboarding, and developing engineers and building cohesive teams. - Experience delivering complex, multi-quarter initiatives with cross-functional dependencies. - Clear communication and sound decision-making across ambiguity, speed, available evidence, and quality. - Authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.
Nice to have Experience in a regulated industry such as fintech or healthcare. Familiarity with government compliance frameworks is helpful but not required. The role also calls for curiosity and sound judgment in applying AI to improve work.
