Role overview A lead engineering role focused on a procure-to-pay platform spanning purchasing, invoice capture and matching, approvals, and accounts payable. The position pairs hands-on coding with technical leadership, partnering closely with Product Managers, Architects, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions. A central focus is driving an AI-first software development lifecycle, rapidly prototyping use cases that demonstrate measurable business value.
Responsibilities - Lead engineering of procure-to-pay solutions and integrations, including systems used for invoice automation, approvals, and supplier connectivity. - Partner with Product Managers on use-case discovery and rapid prototyping, turning AI opportunities into working proofs of concept. - Champion AI-assisted practices across discovery, design, coding, testing, code review, and delivery. - Stay hands-on in complex development while mentoring engineers, reviewing code, and guiding architecture. - Build reusable integration patterns, APIs, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering standards. - Troubleshoot production and integration issues while protecting data integrity and business outcomes.
Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience. - 5+ years building custom web, mobile, enterprise, or integration solutions, including 4+ years of full-stack development. - Strong experience with TypeScript and modern JavaScript (ES6+), React on the front end, and Node.js on the back end. - Back-end experience with Python and/or Rust, plus relational and document databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB. - Hands-on work integrating procure-to-pay or accounts-payable systems, including invoice capture, matching, and supplier/EDI connectivity. - Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines using GitHub, GitLab CI, or Jenkins, plus secure RESTful and GraphQL API design.
Nice to have - Familiarity with C#/.NET during legacy platform modernisation. - Demonstrated interest in prototyping AI use cases with product and business partners.
