A senior development role focused on configuring and customizing emergency management software for government clients. The position blends hands-on front-end engineering with direct client engagement to support public safety and emergency response missions. Responsibilities
- Customize and configure emergency management applications using HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and related front-end technologies. - Partner with solution architects to design secure, scalable, and reusable components. - Participate in Agile ceremonies, peer code reviews, and collaborative planning sessions. - Engage with clients to gather requirements, document technical specifications, and deliver training. - Perform testing, debugging, and quality assurance with minimal supervision. - Ensure deliverables meet security and accessibility standards, including Section 508 compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree. - Demonstrated WebEOC development experience. - At least 5 years of professional web development work with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5, CSS, JSON, XML, and XSLT. - Minimum 2 years in a client-facing capacity. - Strong background writing test cases and resolving complex technical issues. - Experience working in Agile Scrum or Kanban environments. - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills, with the ability to translate business needs into effective technical solutions.
Nice to have
- Experience with Microsoft SQL Server or other relational databases. - Background working within a customer's secure remote environment. - Familiarity with emergency management systems or public sector IT. - Comfort with Jira, Confluence, and automated testing tools. - Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and GitLab or similar source control tools. - WebEOC Administrator certification, or willingness to obtain within 12 months of hire.
