Role overview A mid-level full stack engineering position with a stronger backend focus, centered on building the internal platforms, tooling, and infrastructure that underpin scalable product development. The role suits an engineer who enjoys shaping developer experience while remaining comfortable contributing on the frontend when needed.
Responsibilities - Design and maintain backend services, APIs, and internal tooling used across product teams - Improve infrastructure that powers component distribution, asset management, documentation, and release workflows - Support and evolve a shared engineering monorepo, with attention to scalability, maintainability, and developer experience - Partner with frontend engineers and designers to keep shared patterns and tooling consistent across products - Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automation, testing, and deployment workflows using tools such as GitHub Actions - Strengthen reliability and performance through observability and monitoring improvements - Help product teams adopt and integrate shared tooling and services - Improve documentation and onboarding resources for engineers - Participate in architecture discussions and contribute practical, scalable engineering solutions, including migration of legacy code and tooling
Requirements - Production experience with JavaScript or TypeScript - Solid grasp of backend development principles and hands-on experience building APIs or internal services - Familiarity with Node.js and modern web frameworks such as React or Next.js - Experience with relational databases and database design fundamentals - Understanding of testing practices and software quality principles - Familiarity with CI/CD workflows and developer tooling - Experience with Git and collaborative engineering workflows - Strong cross-functional communication skills - Genuine interest in developer experience, platform engineering, or internal tooling
Nice to have - Background in a product-led SaaS environment - Exposure to frontend infrastructure or shared platform tooling - Familiarity with observability and monitoring tooling - Experience contributing to monorepos or internal platform tooling - Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
