Role overview
Serve as the senior technical partner for prospective customers in an independent software vendor segment. The role leads technical discovery, solution design, demonstrations, proofs of concept, and proposal support, helping customers understand how communications APIs and related products can address business and engineering needs. It requires confidence with both executive audiences and software developers, along with the autonomy to guide complex opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Partner with account executives on qualification, product demonstrations, proofs of concept, RFP responses, technical documentation, presentations, and enablement sessions. - Lead technical discovery to uncover customer pain points and translate them into practical, innovative solution architectures. - Advise customers on implementation approaches and best practices for using communications APIs and associated products. - Design and deliver engaging demonstrations for technical and non-technical stakeholders, building confidence in the proposed solution. - Drive the technical side of medium-to-large opportunities while contributing to architectural decisions and coordinating with product and other internal teams. - Share reusable demonstrations, presentations, and technical knowledge across the solutions engineering community, while mentoring less-experienced engineers.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of experience in technical presales for complex products, or 10 years supporting technical products with customer-facing delivery or consulting experience. - Strong communication, presentation, and storytelling skills, with the ability to gain confidence across multiple levels of an organization. - Ability to understand communications requirements and guide customers toward an appropriate technical solution. - Previous software development experience or working knowledge of relevant technical domains. - Experience in one or more of telecom, SIP, contact centers, or security, plus familiarity with sales methodologies. - Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud application architecture, including major public-cloud environments.
