Remote job
Senior Full-Stack Engineer - Mental Health Care
Job details
About this role
Role overview
Lead short, varied engineering projects that use AI and software to improve workflows across business teams at a pediatric mental health provider. You’ll work directly with stakeholders to shape loosely defined needs into working solutions, owning architecture and delivery across tools such as internal web applications, integrations, microservices, and, where appropriate, LLM-powered features. The engagement is described as six months, with projects ranging from about a week to a couple of months.
Responsibilities
- Meet with nontechnical stakeholders to understand workflows, identify opportunities, and define practical solutions. - Design and build projects end to end, including application architecture, infrastructure, tooling, and deployment preparation. - Create AI-enabled tools and integrations; choose LLMs or agents when they fit the problem. - Use AI coding tools to prototype quickly, put working versions in front of users, and iterate on feedback. - Explain technical choices and progress in plain language, report regularly to engineering management, and raise gaps early. - Set up local environments and coordinate with the platform team to bring solutions into production while following privacy, security, and governance controls.
Requirements
- Senior-level full-stack engineering experience, with the ability to design and deliver applications end to end. - Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including translating technical work for nontechnical audiences. - Product judgment: ability to understand underlying needs and propose solutions without relying on a detailed ticket or specification. - Comfort working autonomously and owning architecture, infrastructure, and project progress. - Enthusiasm for AI and an AI-first development workflow. - Experience integrating LLMs into applications, or strong full-stack skills supported by relevant AI prototypes; production LLM experience is not required. - Basic infrastructure experience with services, containers, Kubernetes, or AWS, and ability to work with a platform team. - Java or Python and React are preferred; candidates must also complete a client assignment that includes a recorded video.
Benefits and work setup
The role is fully remote and offers paid time off, schedule autonomy, and compensation in USD. The engagement is project-based for six months.
