Senior Frontend Engineer - Media Production

Role overview

Help build a new headless front end for a large-scale news publication. As a senior engineer, you will shape the architecture and shared engineering practices while contributing to an early launch, with a strong focus on performance, accessibility, search visibility, and AI-assisted workflows.

Responsibilities - Design and build the new front-end architecture and help deliver its initial page. - Establish component patterns, engineering standards, code review practices, and automated testing. - Own performance improvements, including Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and accessibility. - Connect user-facing pages to headless content systems and internal APIs. - Mentor other engineers and work closely with engineering leadership. - Introduce and improve AI-assisted agent workflows throughout development.

Requirements - Five or more years of senior front-end engineering experience. - Advanced React, Next.js App Router, and TypeScript skills. - Background building content-driven applications with headless CMS and APIs. - Experience improving web performance, SEO, and accessibility. - A track record of putting automated testing practices in place. - Daily familiarity with AI coding assistants and fluent English for collaboration with a US-based team.
