Role overview

Build a new headless front end for a large-scale news publication, helping shape its architecture and engineering practices from the start. The work combines delivery of an initial page on a near-term schedule with long-term attention to performance, accessibility, search visibility, and AI-assisted development.

Responsibilities - Design and implement the front-end architecture and deliver the first launch page. - Define reusable component patterns, coding standards, automated testing, and review practices. - Monitor and improve Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, and accessibility. - Integrate the interface with headless content management systems and internal APIs. - Mentor teammates and coordinate with engineering leadership. - Develop and refine AI-assisted, agent-based workflows across the development process.

Requirements - At least five years of senior front-end engineering experience. - Advanced skills with React, Next.js App Router, and TypeScript. - Experience building API-driven interfaces backed by a headless CMS. - Practical focus on web performance, technical SEO, and accessibility. - Experience establishing automated testing practices. - Regular use of AI coding assistants and fluent English for daily collaboration with a US-based team.
