Senior Software Engineer- Backend

Role overview A senior backend engineering role focused on building and maintaining large-scale web products that connect a major travel platform with partners across accommodations, experiences, and restaurants. The work sits inside a partner products group within a hotels-focused engineering organization and targets hundreds of millions of monthly travelers. The position is remote or hybrid, with the hybrid office based in Dublin.

Responsibilities - Design straightforward solutions for complex product and integration problems. - Collaborate with cross-functional technical and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality code on schedule. - Investigate, reproduce, and resolve intricate issues in web-based product features. - Contribute to internal automation that improves team efficiency and developer workflows. - Expand and refine system documentation used by partners integrating with the products. - Participate in a rotating on-call rotation for network connectivity and product support.

Requirements - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a closely related discipline. - Five or more years of professional programming experience with strong problem-solving and debugging skills on complex systems. - Proficiency on the Linux platform and its standard command-line utilities. - Ability to write complex SQL queries and a solid grasp of HTTP and other internet protocols. - Deep hands-on expertise with the Java programming language. - Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly.
