Lead Software Engineer (Editor)

Role overview Lead the team building a conversion-focused editor for an ecommerce platform, sitting at the intersection of engineering leadership and AI-native product thinking. This remote role (Europe/LATAM) blends hands-on coding with technical direction, owning both delivery cadence and the product judgment that decides how AI features show up inside a visual page builder.

Responsibilities - Own technical direction for the editor, including how AI features generate, suggest, and personalize content to drive conversion - Run sprint planning, task breakdown, prioritization, and daily unblocking for the team - Step into critical-path work directly when the team is stretched, maintaining code review standards and shipping velocity - Lead incident response and own production health for the editor surface - Evaluate AI feature ideas against real page-building workflows, pushing back on concepts that do not move conversion - Write unit and integration tests as part of feature delivery and identify edge cases during planning - Set the standard for AI-augmented workflows across the team and mentor engineers in their AI tool usage - Ramp and mentor team members, including their AI-assisted development practices

Requirements - Six or more years of professional software engineering experience with at least one to two years leading a team's technical direction - Hands-on experience building consumer-facing web products at scale, preferably page builders, funnel editors, or complex WYSIWYG tools - Demonstrated track record shipping AI-powered product features, not just using AI coding tools - Direct experience working with a product manager on roadmap and feature definition - Comfort serving as the primary escalation point for production issues in the product domain
