Data Platform Engineer, Data Infrastructure & Services

Role overview Build and operate a cloud data platform, helping move workloads from multiple cloud environments into a unified platform. The work spans infrastructure automation, data pipelines, governance and production operations, with an emphasis on delivering end-to-end improvements in a lean engineering team.

Responsibilities - Create and maintain reusable infrastructure-as-code modules and automated deployment pipelines. - Help migrate workloads, storage and data pipelines to the target cloud environment. - Develop and improve platform capabilities for batch and streaming data, analytics and orchestration. - Automate security, privacy and compliance controls, including access, networking, secrets and encryption. - Establish monitoring, logging, recovery plans, runbooks and technical decision records for production services. - Track cloud capacity and costs, and use AI tools to support engineering, troubleshooting, documentation and reviews.

Requirements - Ability to read, troubleshoot and reason across code, infrastructure and data pipelines. - Foundational knowledge of at least one major cloud platform, with hands-on experience or willingness to specialize in the target platform. - Practical experience with declarative infrastructure tools, state management and CI/CD. - Familiarity with data engineering tools and concepts such as warehouses, workflow orchestration, messaging, stream processing or transformation frameworks. - Sound judgment when validating AI-generated work, choosing simple solutions and escalating significant security, privacy or architecture decisions. - An operational mindset that treats testing, observability, documentation and governance as part of delivery.
