Job details
About this role
Role overview Lead the development of an enterprise data warehouse and the business intelligence products built on it, supporting healthcare operations and value-based care analysis. This is a hands-on leadership role: you will build data models and pipelines while guiding a small engineering and BI team, setting priorities, and working with business stakeholders.
Responsibilities - Design and maintain dimensional and normalized warehouse models, curated marts, and tables across Databricks lakehouse layers. - Build and operate SQL and Spark/PySpark ETL/ELT pipelines for payer, claims, clinical, and other business data; establish data quality and reconciliation checks. - Govern data access, lineage, performance, and workload costs using Delta and Unity Catalog, with privacy controls aligned to healthcare requirements. - Own the BI roadmap, backlog, requirements, and user acceptance; develop a governed semantic layer and reusable models for dashboards. - Work with clinical, operations, finance, and growth teams to turn business questions into data products and encourage adoption. - Mentor engineers and BI developers, lead agile delivery and code quality practices, and contribute code and reviews directly.
Requirements - 10+ years in data warehousing, data engineering, and BI, including at least 3 years leading teams. - Strong hands-on expertise in SQL, data modeling, ETL/ELT, stored procedures, and Databricks, including Delta, Unity Catalog, and SQL warehouses. - Experience with an enterprise BI and semantic modeling platform such as Looker, Omni, or MicroStrategy, and with product ownership of a data or BI platform. - Required healthcare experience with payer, claims, eligibility, and clinical data, including familiarity with HIPAA, PHI, and related safeguards. - Ability to lead agile teams while remaining an individual contributor, communicate with executives and business users, and translate between their needs. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, statistics, or a related field, or equivalent relevant background; a master’s is preferred.
Nice to have - Value-based care or Medicare Advantage experience, including HEDIS, Stars, HCC/risk adjustment, eligibility, and claims transactions. - Experience with dbt, Airflow, Azure data services, Salesforce pipelines, cloud cost management, or distributed teams.
Benefits and work setup - Salary range of $165,000–$195,000, health, dental, and vision coverage, 401(k), paid time off, and company holidays.
