Software Engineer (Cloud, DevEx)

Role overview This software engineering role owns the developer experience layer that every product and data team depends on, including CI/CD pipelines, delivery infrastructure, standardized environments, and test automation. The engineer embeds with other squads to find and fix friction firsthand, then designs and rolls out the systems that replace it. Success is measured by adoption and team velocity: faster builds, fewer flaky runs, and fewer manual steps between a commit and production.

Responsibilities - Lead design and implementation of build, test, and deployment systems, balancing speed, reliability, and cost, and authoring the architecture documents behind the decisions. - Own CI/CD pipelines end to end, including a move from Jenkins to GitHub Actions, build-time reduction, caching, automated releases, and clear rollback paths. - Standardize developer environments and internal tooling, including local setup, CLIs, and scripts. - Embed with engineering teams to fix tooling friction directly and use the tools you build. - Integrate AI into developer workflows such as code review, testing, refactoring, and internal search, with judgment around security and data handling. - Drive incident response for the delivery toolchain and own follow-ups to completion.

Requirements - 7+ years of related experience and a bachelor's degree, including hands-on work in developer experience, CI/CD, build or release engineering, or developer tooling. - A track record of shipping application software and helping product teams move faster without sacrificing quality. - Strong command of at least one production language (such as Node, Python, or Kotlin) and the ability to write automation and test code held to product standards. - Depth with CI platforms like Jenkins or GitHub Actions, Git platforms, and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform, Ansible, or Helm. - Working knowledge of containers and Kubernetes-based deployments, with a track record of measurable improvements to build and test reliability. - Strong written communication, a service mindset, and comfort working inside another team's codebase and process.

Nice to have - Experience with modern testing tooling and API or contract testing. - Comfortable using AI tools such as Claude in day-to-day engineering work.
