Role overview A Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack) opportunity on a New Ventures team operating like a startup inside a larger hospitality technology company. The role is a true fullstack builder position, working across backend services, web front ends, and Android point-of-sale and handheld apps to ship a new line of business from scratch.

Responsibilities

- Build end-to-end across backend services, APIs, data models, web front ends, and Android point-of-sale and handheld apps, going wherever the product needs. - Ramp quickly on unfamiliar platforms and codebases, including Android/Kotlin. - Stay customer-interested and product-minded, forming a point of view on what operators actually need. - Collaborate closely with a small cross-functional team, biasing toward putting working software in customers' hands fast. - Navigate diverse, unfamiliar codebases across the broader platform and consistently deliver high-quality code on timeline. - Take high ownership across testing, instrumentation, on-call, and cleanup work. - Leverage cutting-edge AI tools to enhance development workflow, improve velocity, and pioneer new approaches to building.

Requirements

- Track record of shipping meaningful product to real users with clear technical and business impact. - Genuine fullstack range, having owned features from backend service and API through to the client, with a real opinion about both ends. - Solid backend fundamentals in Java, Kotlin, or similar, including distributed systems, asynchronous communication, event-driven architecture, API design, and integration patterns. - Comfort with modern web front-end development (React or similar) and an eye for usable interfaces. - Credible track record of learning a new language, framework, or platform on the job and shipping production code in it. - Demonstrated ability to deliver clean, maintainable, resilient code. - Experience with 0→1 builds and comfort with shifting priorities and incomplete requirements. - Strong communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to write up a technical design and align partners on it. - A clear pattern of using AI tools to ship better work faster, with specifics on how.

Nice to have

- Android development experience, particularly production Kotlin (or Java alongside it). - Background on early-stage products, internal incubations, or rapid experimentation teams. - Experience with point-of-sale, payments, hardware-adjacent, or offline-first systems. - History of filling whatever gap is open on a team and enjoying it.
