Senior Software Engineer, Applied AI

Role overview

The position focuses on embedding large language models into internal workflows so that work improves automatically as model capabilities advance. The engineer will build, ship, and own end-to-end agents that replace manual steps across functions such as editorial, sales, revenue operations, and people operations at a small, profitable, bootstrapped company with no legacy systems. It is a senior, high-ownership individual contributor role that partners with a product manager while making smaller product decisions independently.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and deploy new agents and platform capabilities that integrate LLMs into workflows across multiple teams - Take agents from initial concept through implementation, evaluation, internal rollout, and ongoing maintenance - Write evaluation criteria and specifications that define quality before launch, ensuring outcomes are measurable rather than anecdotal - Collaborate with the applied AI product manager on roadmap priorities while independently scoping smaller product decisions - Work directly with non-technical stakeholders in sales, revenue operations, editorial, and people operations to identify the right places for LLM automation

Requirements

- At least five years of software engineering experience, including two or more years building products or systems that use large language models - Proven track record of shipping at least one LLM-powered agent to production and continuing to own it - Fluency with AI-assisted coding tools such as Claude Code or Codex in day-to-day development - Practice of writing evaluations as part of the build process, with clear definitions of quality and examples of what changed as a result

- Comfort operating in a domain without established best practices - Strong product judgment, including the ability to articulate what was deliberately not built and why - Treating improvements in model capability as a design input rather than an afterthought - Willingness to engage directly with non-engineering teams to discover where automation fits

Benefits and work setup
