Director, Product Design

Role overview A senior design leadership role directing product design across a pillar that spans partner-facing integrations and consumer-facing acquisition experiences for a home services marketplace. The position focuses on setting vision, raising craft standards, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver high-quality, user-centered experiences at scale.

Responsibilities - Lead and scale Product Design across multiple teams within the Demand Partnerships and Demand Gen pillar - Define and drive a clear, compelling vision and north star guiding product and experience decisions - Mentor and develop designers, including senior individual contributors and managers, coaching them toward greater impact - Partner with Product, Engineering, Research, Data, Business Development, and Marketing leaders to shape strategy and drive business results - Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality, user-centered design solutions across teams - Establish effective team processes, operating models, and organizational design to scale design impact - Champion user-centered thinking and integrate research and data into decision-making

Requirements - At least 10 years of experience managing product designers, including senior-level talent and managers - Proven track record of driving product vision and strategy across complex, cross-functional environments - High bar for visual, interaction, and systems thinking, with the ability to raise quality through teams rather than solely individual contribution - Exceptional cross-functional leadership and influence at senior and executive levels - Experience building and scaling high-performing design teams and inclusive cultures - Deep commitment to user-centered design, with strong partnership with Research and Data - Experience leading product design for growth or demand generation, with measurable improvements in acquisition, conversion, activation, or retention through experimentation, data, and user insight

Benefits and work setup For candidates located in Ontario and British Columbia, expected total cash compensation including base salary and applicable variable pay is in the range of $226,100 to $292,600, with actual offers varying based on factors such as calibrated job level, qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role.
