Senior Node.js Software Engineer - Holepunch (100% Remote, Worldwide)

Role overview Develop and maintain a peer-to-peer software stack and help expand a large ecosystem of reusable JavaScript modules. The work centers on production-grade Node.js software, with an emphasis on modular design, reliability and networking. The position is described as fully remote and open worldwide.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain components of a peer-to-peer stack using Node.js. - Develop reusable npm modules and support a broad, modular codebase. - Write maintainable software and investigate issues through testing and debugging. - Contribute to the evolution of distributed systems and peer-to-peer capabilities. - Coordinate effectively with teammates working across locations and time zones.

Requirements - Proven experience building production-scale applications with Node.js. - Strong ability to write modular, maintainable code. - Experience creating and managing reusable npm packages. - Solid testing and debugging skills. - Deep interest in or experience with peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems. - Good communication skills and comfort working in a globally distributed remote team.

Nice to have - Experience writing native Node.js extensions in C or C++, or connecting JavaScript to lower-level code. - Experience improving network performance, including latency or throughput. - Familiarity with advanced networking concepts. - Open-source contributions, especially in peer-to-peer or decentralized technology.
