Senior Node.js Software Engineer - Holepunch (100% Remote, Worldwide)

Role overview Build and maintain a peer-to-peer software stack and help grow a broad ecosystem of reusable JavaScript modules. The work centers on production Node.js systems, modular code, and distributed technology, with collaboration across a globally distributed team.

Responsibilities - Develop and maintain components of a peer-to-peer stack using Node.js. - Expand and support a large collection of reusable npm modules. - Write modular, maintainable code suitable for production use. - Test and debug software to improve reliability. - Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues working remotely across regions.

Requirements - Experience developing production-scale applications with Node.js. - Ability to design and manage reusable npm modules. - Strong practices in writing maintainable code, testing, and debugging. - Deep interest in or experience with peer-to-peer technologies or distributed systems. - Clear communication skills and comfort working in a remote, globally distributed team.

Nice to have - Experience with native Node.js extensions in C or C++, or connecting JavaScript to lower-level code. - Familiarity with networking concepts and improving protocol performance, such as latency or throughput. - Contributions to open-source projects, especially in peer-to-peer or decentralized technology.
