Role overview
Improve how teams building desktop and mobile applications develop, review, test, and release software. This hands-on engineering role focuses on shared runtimes and AI tooling, combining developer tools and automation with practical support for adoption. The engineer will help shape the tooling roadmap and measure whether improvements make feedback faster and delivery more dependable.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate, integrate, and maintain developer tools and AI agents, including the guidance and integrations they need to work with code repositories. - Build and operate agents in continuous integration and scheduled workflows to investigate failures, propose fixes, and provide evidence engineers can review. - Improve automated pull request reviews by checking the accuracy of findings and reducing unhelpful noise. - Create code quality checks for complexity, file and function size, dependency cycles, and performance regressions; work with package owners on thresholds and focused refactoring. - Improve development environments, testing, and build and release workflows so people and agents can verify changes consistently. - Prioritize improvements with engineering teams, support adoption through documentation and onboarding, and track effectiveness, reliability, and operating costs.
Requirements
- Experience building and maintaining developer tools or engineering automation used by other people. - Strong JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js skills. - Hands-on experience using and integrating AI coding tools or agents, with good judgment about limitations, output validation, and human review. - Experience with Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and systematic debugging of build, test, or integration failures. - A strong approach to maintainable code, useful automated checks, and behavior-preserving refactoring. - Ability to work independently, collaborate with engineers, and communicate clearly in English with a globally distributed team.
