Backend Engineer - Wallets (100% Remote Worldwide)

Role overview A global fintech organization is hiring a backend engineer to strengthen the wallets team that powers blockchain-based digital asset services used by exchanges, payment processors, and end users. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, real-time services within an agile, distributed engineering culture. The position is fully remote and open to candidates worldwide.

Responsibilities - Design and ship backend services and APIs using Node.js, applying microservices patterns to support wallet functionality - Maintain high availability and low latency as platform traffic and the user base grow - Apply security best practices throughout the development lifecycle to protect user assets and transaction data - Contribute to peer-to-peer components and other complex distributed systems - Model and interact with data in relational and document databases such as MySQL and MongoDB - Collaborate across functions using agile methodologies to deliver platform features iteratively

Requirements - Strong proficiency in Node.js and JavaScript - Familiarity with microservices architecture for building scalable services - Hands-on experience developing complex, distributed platforms - Understanding of peer-to-peer technologies and their application in backend systems - Practical experience interacting with databases such as MySQL and MongoDB - Solid grasp of security best practices and how to embed them in backend services - Quick learner, comfortable adapting to evolving technologies and requirements - Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
