Backend Engineer - Wallets (100% Remote)

Role overview This remote backend engineering role sits on the wallets team within a fintech organization that develops blockchain-based token infrastructure for exchanges, payment processors, and consumer wallets. The engineer will design and ship resilient, real-time services in a fully remote, agile environment. The position focuses on contributing to complex distributed systems at scale and shaping platform evolution.

Responsibilities - Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js, organized around a microservices architecture - Keep services performant and responsive as platform usage and feature scope expand - Embed security best practices across all backend components to safeguard user assets and data - Help develop peer-to-peer capabilities that support the wallets platform - Work with relational and document databases such as MySQL and MongoDB as part of day-to-day engineering tasks - Partner with cross-functional teammates using agile practices to deliver features incrementally

Requirements - Deep proficiency with Node.js and modern JavaScript - Comfort designing within a microservices architecture for scalable applications - Experience developing complex, distributed platforms - Familiarity with peer-to-peer technologies and how they fit into backend systems - Working knowledge of databases such as MySQL and MongoDB - Strong awareness of security best practices and their practical application in services - Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new tools and technologies - Excellent English communication skills
