Senior Full-Stack Engineer

Role overview

Join as the first engineering hire and establish the technical foundations for an early stage product. You will shape architecture and build core systems—including conversation state, API contracts, and data structures—while balancing the speed of an initial launch with choices that can support future development.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement the product’s initial full stack architecture and core features. - Create database schemas, API contracts, and conversation state machines from the ground up. - Evaluate multiple approaches and explain the trade offs behind technical decisions. - Ship an initial product version and make pragmatic decisions about when to move quickly and when to invest in durability. - Help assess and select future engineering teammates as the team grows.

Requirements

- At least five years of full stack development experience. - Deep expertise with TypeScript and Node.js. - Experience designing systems from scratch, including databases, APIs, or state machines. - Previous startup or early stage experience building an initial product version. - A track record of shipping complete products, not only isolated features. - Strong architectural judgment informed by experience and the ability to adapt when evidence changes.

Nice to have

- Experience integrating AI or LLM services. - Familiarity with AWS services or infrastructure tooling such as Lambda, S3, CloudFront, and CDK. - Experience hiring, mentoring, or contributing to open source.
