Job details
About this role
Role overview
Build and maintain an internal platform that brings together program operations, founder support, network engagement, and investment workflows. This senior engineering role owns product features end to end, from data pipelines and APIs to the web interface, with a focus on search and AI-assisted tools. It also leads the careful migration and retirement of older systems.
Responsibilities - Design, build, test, and ship platform features across data ingestion, APIs, and the user interface. - Develop search, data retrieval, and assistive workflows that help users find relevant information across founder and portfolio records. - Consolidate useful capabilities from legacy tools into the central platform and retire remaining systems safely. - Build data pipelines that support timely product features, search, and AI use cases. - Improve reliability and development pace through testing, code review, and continuous integration and deployment practices. - Help teammates resolve technical blockers, contribute to architecture decisions, and share context across time zones.
Requirements - Strong TypeScript and Python skills, with judgment about which to use for a given task. - Solid React experience and the ability to deliver functional user interfaces independently. - Relational database experience, including data modeling, migrations, and query performance; PostgreSQL is used. - Experience building data pipelines from ingestion through transformation and delivery; comparable event-streaming experience is applicable. - Production experience with language model features, including retrieval, embeddings, and evaluation of output quality. - Comfort operating containerized services in a major cloud environment and working with infrastructure defined as code. - Track record of taking features from initial design to production and retiring systems without disrupting downstream users. - Strong written communication and ability to work autonomously in a remote-first team.
Nice to have - Event-driven systems, Kafka, or language model evaluation and observability. - MCP or similar tools that let agents interact safely with production systems. - Identity and access management, search infrastructure, Next.js, or Material UI experience. - Familiarity with financial or investment data, venture capital, accelerators, or high-growth startups.
Benefits and work setup - Salary range: $120,000–$150,000. - Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k), and paid time off.
