Job details
About this role
Role overview
Build the browser and web access infrastructure behind a search system designed for AI agents. The work combines investigation of browser and website behavior with engineering tools and production systems that can access web content reliably at large scale.
Responsibilities
- Analyze how websites and browsers interact throughout the request and navigation lifecycle. - Investigate browser fingerprinting, client verification, and evolving web technologies that affect access to pages. - Develop tools for browser instrumentation, debugging, observability, and large-scale experiments. - Turn research findings into reliable infrastructure for high-volume web access.
Requirements
- At least five years of software engineering experience on production backend or infrastructure systems. - Strong expertise in several browser technologies, such as Chromium internals, browser navigation, Chrome DevTools Protocol, or automation frameworks like Playwright, Puppeteer, and Selenium. - Knowledge of web networking, including HTTP versions, TLS, DNS, and browser request behavior. - Experience with browser storage, cookies, caching, redirects, sessions, JavaScript execution, or client-side rendering. - Familiarity with page lifecycle, resource loading, instrumentation, debugging, or browser fingerprinting.
Nice to have
- Experience with browser engines or browser infrastructure, reverse engineering web behavior, or internet-scale distributed systems. - Experience with Go, C++, Rust, Python, Kubernetes, or cloud infrastructure.
Benefits and work setup
- Broad ownership of infrastructure in a small team. - Work includes scaling challenges such as bursty workloads, cache invalidation, multi-region systems, and millions of daily requests. - Coding interviews are part of the hiring process.
