Senior Product Engineer

Role overview Build and operate the platform behind AI agents that handle patient conversations through voice, web chat, and SMS. As a senior product engineer, you’ll take features from early problem research and interaction design through full-stack implementation, release, and production monitoring. The work spans backend services, user interfaces, real-time communications, clinical software integrations, and model-powered features.

Responsibilities - Investigate product problems, clarify requirements with product leadership, propose usable interactions, and own features through production. - Build backend services and APIs with TypeScript and Node.js, frontend experiences with React, and cloud infrastructure as code. - Integrate language models and tools into product workflows; create evaluations and make deliberate quality, latency, and cost trade-offs. - Connect the platform to telephony and call routing, electronic health record systems, model providers, and other external services. - Shape architecture through technical proposals and reviews, keeping systems maintainable and efficient for real-time calls. - Monitor production behavior, investigate incidents and performance issues, and mentor engineers through reviews and pairing. - Use multiple coding agents for implementation, review, research, and troubleshooting; improve agent instructions, reusable workflows, and team practices.

Requirements - Track record of shipping and owning a product or substantial features end to end. - Strong architecture skills, including the ability to explain design trade-offs and keep systems easy to evolve. - Hands-on full-stack TypeScript experience with Node.js, React, and MongoDB or another database. - Experience with a major cloud provider and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Pulumi. - Production experience integrating LLM-powered features, evaluating results, and managing latency and cost. - Practical understanding of how SOC 2 and HIPAA requirements affect data handling, access, and logging. - Ability to propose clear user interactions and interfaces without relying on detailed mockups. - Fluent written and spoken English at C1 level or above, and confidence directing, reviewing, and correcting AI coding agents.
