Backend Developer, AWS

Role overview

This role focuses on designing, developing, and implementing next-generation cloud-native backend solutions on AWS for a company in the outdoor and action camera technology space. The backend developer will play a key part in supporting mobile applications and web platforms, collaborating across product, engineering, and leadership teams to deliver high-quality, scalable solutions aligned with product initiatives.

Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and deploy backend applications and APIs using TypeScript. - Use AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK) to define and manage cloud infrastructure as code. - Work with NoSQL databases, particularly Amazon DynamoDB, for data storage and retrieval. - Develop and deploy serverless functions using AWS Lambda. - Collaborate with frontend developers and stakeholders to define and implement application requirements. - Write clean, well-documented, testable code and participate in code reviews to improve development processes. - Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while staying current with AWS technologies and best practices.

Requirements

- 3+ years of experience in system design or architecture, including knowledge of design patterns, reliability, and scalability. - Proficiency in TypeScript. - Hands-on experience with AWS Cloud Development Kit (CDK). - Strong knowledge of Amazon DynamoDB. - Experience developing and deploying AWS Lambda functions. - Familiarity with RESTful API design and development. - Experience with version control systems such as Git.

Nice to have

- AWS Associate-level certification or higher.
