Role overview
A hands-on platform role supporting the infrastructure behind a command-and-control software product used to coordinate large fleets of autonomous aircraft. The work spans cloud and on-premises environments, with a strong emphasis on shipping reliably, embedding security, and enabling engineers who serve real operators in the field. The position requires travel to customer and test sites when deployments demand it, and candidates must satisfy U.S. export control eligibility.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that move code from commit through multiple environments to production - Manage infrastructure as code for both cloud and on-premises deployments - Operate and scale containerized services running on Kubernetes - Implement observability tooling, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and on-call workflows - Package and deploy the product to customer environments, including on-site visits when required - Partner with security leadership to embed compliance and protection requirements into the platform from the start - Improve internal developer tooling and environments so adjacent teams can ship faster
Requirements
- 4 to 8 years in DevOps, platform, SRE, or infrastructure engineering - Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, containers, and infrastructure as code using Terraform or similar tools - Demonstrated track record of building and owning production CI/CD pipelines - Solid Linux and networking fundamentals - Scripting ability in Python, Go, or Bash - Active Secret clearance or higher preferred, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. security clearance - Willingness to travel to customer and test sites - Must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident, protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or otherwise eligible for required State Department authorizations
Nice to have
- Experience deploying to air-gapped, disconnected, or edge environments - Background in defense technology, government programs, or other regulated industries - Familiarity with real-time or mission-critical systems
