AI / ML Engineer

Role overview Improve speech recognition that runs entirely on users’ devices. The work focuses on making models more accurate, faster, and useful across more languages, with particular attention to performance on Apple Silicon. You’ll investigate new speech recognition research, decide what is practical to apply, and help ship model improvements to users.

Responsibilities - Improve speech recognition model accuracy, speed, and language coverage. - Optimize models to run efficiently on Apple Silicon, where small reductions in processing time matter. - Track current speech recognition research and assess which methods could benefit the product. - Translate relevant research into working implementations. - Work with the team to prepare and deliver model updates for real users.

Requirements - At least two years of machine learning experience; speech or audio work is preferred. - Strong working knowledge of PyTorch or TensorFlow. - Experience deploying models in production, beyond training or experimentation. - Ability to read research papers and implement the useful parts.

Nice to have - Experience with Core ML, Metal, or Apple platform development. - Experience training or fine-tuning generative models. - Public open-source contributions that demonstrate relevant work.
