CAD Designer

Role overview Create accurate, buildable HVAC drawings and 3D equipment models for fabrication and installation. The work combines AutoCAD drafting with Autodesk Inventor sheet-metal design, and involves coordinating with engineering, fabrication, and project teams supporting US-based work.

Responsibilities - Draft HVAC layouts in AutoCAD, including duct and piping routes, mechanical rooms, details, sections, and as-built drawings. - Prepare shop drawings for ductwork, fittings, plenums, and supports in line with applicable SMACNA standards and project specifications. - Model HVAC equipment and sheet-metal assemblies in Inventor, then generate flat patterns, cut lists, and fabrication drawings. - Assemble drawing packages with dimensions, tolerances, annotations, title blocks, and bills of materials. - Convert markups, field sketches, PDFs, and older drawings into clean, editable CAD files. - Coordinate layouts against other building disciplines, revise work after feedback or field changes, and check accuracy and revision records.

Requirements - Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, drafting technology, or a related field. - At least three years of CAD design or drafting experience, including two years in HVAC or mechanical building services. - Advanced AutoCAD 2D drafting skills and hands-on Inventor experience with sheet metal, assemblies, flat patterns, and drawings. - Understanding of HVAC components, installation practices, duct sizing basics, and equipment connections. - Familiarity with SMACNA standards and sheet-metal fabrication; able to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and submittals. - Strong attention to detail, clear English communication, and a portfolio showing 2D HVAC drawings and 3D Inventor models. - Reliable high-speed internet and a computer capable of running Inventor; a dedicated GPU is preferred.

Nice to have - AutoCAD MEP, Revit MEP, Navisworks, or Autodesk Vault experience. - Familiarity with US drafting conventions and imperial units.

Benefits and work setup - Full-time remote position for candidates in the Philippines. - Listed monthly net pay: $1,100–$1,800. - Schedule: 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. CST.
