Network Test Automation
Job details
About this role
Role overview Build and improve automated testing for routing software on a large-scale continuous integration platform. Every pull request triggers automated suites, and the platform also runs nightly and weekly regressions. You’ll develop test frameworks and automation, investigate failures across product and infrastructure, and help shape a newly forming team. The work uses AI-supported tools to speed up log analysis and failure coordination.
Responsibilities - Develop and optimize CI/CD test frameworks and suites for routing functionality. - Automate testbed provisioning, traffic generation, diagnostics, and regression testing using Python and networking test tools. - Run weekly regressions and triage failures by examining device, test, and environment logs. - Distinguish product defects from pipeline or environment issues and report well-documented bugs. - Work with software developers and test engineers to turn product changes into meaningful test scenarios. - Contribute to how the new team works, with support from network and DevOps colleagues.
Requirements - Python test automation experience, including pytest, PTF, sonic-mgmt, or Ansible. - Routing knowledge, such as BGP, OSPF, routing tables, VRFs, and Layer 3 concepts; experience with SONiC routers is relevant. - Strong debugging skills, including log analysis and command-line investigation across product, test, and environment layers. - Experience collaborating with software development teams and designing tests for new features. - Hands-on use of AI tools in engineering, plus Docker and Linux command-line skills. - Proficiency with Git and CI/CD platforms, and English at B2 level or higher.
Nice to have Experience with Go, C/C++, or Groovy; SD-WAN; router solutions; Jenkins or GitHub-based pipelines; physical or virtual testbeds; formal defect tracking; or traffic generators.
Benefits and work setup Flexible hours and remote, office-based, or hybrid work are available, along with training, a learning budget, and hands-on onboarding.
