About this role
Role overview
Provide senior technical leadership for a team building secure, usable account-access experiences across a large-scale business platform. The work spans frontend and backend systems, authentication APIs, user interfaces, risk-aware account security, and analytics. You will influence the team’s vision and roadmap while creating reusable foundations that help other product teams deliver controlled, reliable experiences more effectively.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and implementation of well-tested full-stack authentication capabilities, including web experiences, APIs, account-management components, and measurement systems. - Shape the team’s technical direction, roadmap, and long-term vision while making pragmatic tradeoffs among security, usability, business priorities, and maintainability. - Guide technical decisions and facilitate architecture and implementation discussions with partner engineering teams and non-engineering stakeholders. - Collaborate across security, fraud, and other platform groups to develop reusable access controls and improve the end-to-end account-authentication journey. - Help protect users and data by assessing risk intelligently and refining workflows that reduce fraudulent or unauthorized activity. - Mentor engineers, strengthen team culture, support organizational development, and maintain high standards for quality, curiosity, and technical excellence.
Requirements
- At least 8 years of professional software development experience. - Experience serving as a technical lead, including guiding engineers, influencing roadmaps, and overseeing complex work across multiple teams. - Strong frontend and backend capability, with the versatility to operate as a generalist across the stack. - Ability to work collaboratively to identify high-impact solutions and move complex problems forward quickly. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Nice to have
- Expertise in security and authentication systems, including partnership with security and fraud teams. - Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts such as SSO, MFA, RBAC, and identity governance. - Experience building scalable, resilient, observable systems alongside polished frontend experiences. - A preference for simple, durable designs and the ability to connect multiple unfamiliar services and processes. - Experience developing tools or platforms for other software engineers.
