A customer-facing applications engineering position focused on designing, installing, and supporting AI-enabled robotic automation solutions for clients across a range of industries. The role is technically remote for Texas residents, requires up to 50% domestic travel Monday through Friday, and emphasizes hands-on field work over desk-based software development. It is a chance to help expand access to real-world automation by bringing robotic capability to new users and use cases.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales and end customers to design solutions around a six-axis robotic platform for AI-enabled applications - Travel to customer sites to install, program, and verify AI-powered robotic systems - Support customers as they develop new and innovative applications for the robotic platform - Build proof-of-concept setups at an AI lab to showcase the platform's capabilities - Produce supporting documentation such as sample code, white papers, and application notes - Collaborate with in-house engineering teams on the design, testing, and expansion of AI functionality - Help create marketing collateral to grow the customer base
Requirements
- 5+ years working in complex technical environments, or equivalent educational background in automation - Hands-on experience with basic electrical work, including comfort with DC power and NPN versus PNP signal types - Proficiency writing Python scripts - Ability to navigate Solidworks for mechanical design and review tasks - Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of supporting peers - Self-driven, optimistic mindset that prioritizes user impact and execution over technical idealism - Comfort thriving in dynamic, ambitious environments with diverse teammates and backgrounds

Benefits and work setup
