Role overview A platform engineering role focused on building and maintaining the backend services that power a widely used text-to-speech product suite across mobile, desktop, browser, and web. The position sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and audio, supporting public APIs, internal services, and enterprise integrations in a fast-paced, distributed environment.
Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain public and internal APIs spanning payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking - Optimize the full backend API landscape for performance, scalability, and long-term maintainability - Partner on B2B solutions, tailoring backend services and integration paths to enterprise client needs - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience - Make rapid product and technical decisions, with leadership earned through consistent delivery and strong technical work
Requirements - Proven backend development experience with TypeScript and Node.js - Hands-on familiarity with Google Cloud Platform and working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or comparable cloud providers - Ability to prioritize effectively, weighing urgency against business impact during ideation and implementation - Strong communication skills and a track record of delivering fast, high-quality work - Strategic thinker comfortable owning significant technical decisions
Nice to have - Experience with Docker and containerized deployment workflows - Proficiency operating high-availability applications on Kubernetes
