Role overview
The Las Vegas, NV Platform team is hiring a backend engineer to build and operate the services behind a consumer text-to-speech product used worldwide. Day-to-day work involves designing public and internal APIs, supporting payments and subscription flows, and contributing to product decisions in a fast, flat, fully remote organization. The role is well suited to engineers who enjoy ownership, quick iteration, and shipping systems that directly touch user experience.
Responsibilities
- Develop and sustain APIs for both external developers and internal product surfaces, including text-to-speech, payments, auth, and subscription management - Steward the entire backend API ecosystem, optimizing for reliability, latency, and maintainability - Work alongside B2B stakeholders on enterprise integrations and custom solutions - Align backend architecture with product strategy through close collaboration with cross-functional partners - Help maintain a results-oriented culture where anyone can lead through strong technical execution
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience building backend systems with TypeScript and Node.js - Production experience on Google Cloud Platform, with awareness of AWS, Azure, or other cloud environments - Comfort moving from concept to implementation quickly and reprioritizing as needs shift - Excellent communication and a bias toward shipping

- Hands-on work with Docker and containerized services - Experience operating high-availability systems on Kubernetes
