About this role
Role overview This Gothenburg-based role centers on the backend platform behind a text-to-speech product used to turn many forms of written content into audio. The engineer will help operate and evolve services covering speech generation, billing, subscriptions, analytics, authorization, usage accounting, and third-party access. It is a hands-on position for someone who can connect technical design to product outcomes and remain effective in a distributed, high-tempo organization.
Responsibilities - Create, enhance, and support APIs ranging from the public text-to-speech interface to internal payment, subscription, authentication, and consumption services. - Continuously assess the API estate and implement changes that improve performance, scalability, maintainability, and operational resilience. - Help deliver customized B2B integrations by analyzing enterprise requirements and contributing appropriate backend solutions. - Collaborate closely with product, frontend, AI, and other technical specialists to keep the architecture aligned with strategic goals and user needs.
Requirements - Demonstrated backend engineering experience, including required proficiency with TypeScript and Node.js. - Experience building or operating services on Google Cloud Platform and familiarity with AWS, Azure, or equivalent providers. - Ability to prioritize competing tasks according to urgency and potential impact without losing delivery momentum. - Sound communication skills, sound technical judgment, and a consistent record of shipping high-quality work quickly.
Nice to have - Experience packaging and deploying services with Docker in containerized environments. - Knowledge of Kubernetes, especially for highly available application deployments.
